Imlay City Historical Museum
Every year we have many exciting events that are held here at the Imlay City Historical Museum. Here is a list of just a few events that we are planning for the year 2008. Check back often to find out updates on our events.
December 5, 2008 After the Imlay City Christmas Parade, Santa Claus stops by the Museum.
April 18, 2008 5p.m. - 8 p.m. The Roast Beef dinner was a great success this year. We would like to thank all of our volunteers for all the hard work they put in so this event was such a success.
June 7 - 8, 2008 The Lapeer County Museum tour has 11 different locations for your enjoyment. Each museum offers a unique perspective on local history. Otter Lake showcases local shipwrecks, Hadley showcases the Sawmill, Lapeer showcases the remodeled Courthouse, and Dryden showcases local history. This was a great hit everyone enjoyed themselves at the various locations.
June 17, 2008 5p.m. - 8 p.m. Big Boy Celebrity Server Night, at the Imlay City Big Boy. We had a great turn out, and thank you to all of the volunteers for their hard work.
August 1 - 2, 2008 Imlay City's Annual Blueberry Festival. On Friday and Saturday we serve Blueberry pie and Ice Cream, Blueberry Ice Cream, and Blueberry Muffins. We will be open at 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
October 23, 2008 6:00 p.m. The 2008 Annual Meeting of the Imlay City Historical Commission will be held at the Imlay City Christian Reformed Church on Thursday October 23, 2008. All members are encouraged to attend. The potluck will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the annual meeting, election of officers, and fellowship to follow. The Program this year is The History of the Ukraine; presented by Rev. Kenneth Vander Horst and Dr. Cliff Clendenan who recently traveled to the Ukraine and explored the culture and history. If you enjoy good food and good entertainment this is the outing for you. you can't beat the fine cooks that always outdo the previous year's menu. Please bring your own table service and a dish or two to pass. Coffee and punch will be provided.
